From 1962 to 1980
Between 1962 and 1980, the Italian economy experienced a period of remarkable growth driven by the expansion of large-scale industry. At the same time, the rapid development of the foundry sector created new opportunities for F.lli Mazzon, laying the foundations for the growth of its refractory coatings business, which complemented the company's existing range of alcohol-based thinners and hydrocarbon-based release agents.
Thanks to the wide variety of raw materials available in its laboratory, Mazzon progressively expanded its production portfolio to include rust-preventive products, as well as nitro and synthetic thinners for paints and coatings. In response to market demand, the company subsequently began manufacturing enamels and anti-corrosion coatings designed to protect metal surfaces.
During the same period, the market for bituminous coatings used in the painting and protection of castings for the construction industry was also expanding. These products would later play an important role in supporting the growth of the waterproofing sector, which became a significant area of development for the company.
The foundations of Mazzon's industrial cleaning division were also established during these years. Closely linked to Italy's growing household appliance industry, this activity focused on the development of specialized products for the degreasing and pickling of metal sheets prior to porcelain enamelling, meeting the technical requirements of enamel manufacturers and contributing to the company's ongoing diversification.
The 1990s
The 1990s marked the entry of the second generation into the company, bringing a strong focus on investment, production efficiency, and process optimization. This period initiated a major phase of renewal and development that has continued to the present day, allowing F.lli Mazzon to gain an increasingly clear understanding of its capabilities and growth potential.
For more than two decades, the company pursued a strategy of continuous improvement and expansion. Having almost fully met the domestic demand for refractory coatings for foundries and consolidated its position in the market for auxiliary foundry products such as thinners, release agents, adhesives, exothermic sleeves, and additives, F.lli Mazzon successfully embarked on the production of binding resins.
Hüttenes Albertus Group
Since July 2018, the company has been part of the HA Group, a global leader in the production of chemical products for the foundry industry.
Following this acquisition, F.lli Mazzon was reorganized as an autonomous division of HA Italia S.p.A., while maintaining the key strategic assets that have distinguished its operations in the market.
This integration combines Mazzon's expertise and know-how with the international resources of the HA Group, while preserving the company's identity and operational continuity.
